| #7733--ADDING HEIGHT TO THE TRANSOM
OF A SMALL POWER BOAT In cases where outboard motors are not bolted to a boat’s transom and provisions have not been made by the manufacturer for raising or lowering the height of the motor, it is necessary to cut down or build up the transom to arrive at the correct height of the motor’s anti-cavitation plate in relation to the bottom of the boat. Usually, the amount that a motor has to be raised or lowered is less than an inch. And, if the outboard’s propeller is slipping because the motor is mounted too high, it would be wise to try a cupped propeller before cutting down the transom. Adding height to the transom, however, is relatively easy HOME PAGE |
