SAILING YACHTS How to Build, Rig and Sail Them Edited by Percival Marshall, A.I. Mech. E. From the Preface--Since the first edition of this Manual was published the sport and craft of model yacht sailing and building respectively have undergone great developments: The sport has become organised, whilst the craft has become a fine art. Within the scope of such a small work it is, of course, impossible to more than touch upon the many intricacies of yacht design; but the serious reader will not have any difficulty in gleaning much valuable information from the several new chapters on both design and construction, from the pen of Mr. W. J. Daniels. The various designs for which Mr. Daniels is also responsible are those of models that have already proved their worth, and which, if carried out carefully to specification, will, without doubt, give as much satisfaction as have the originals. The matter on sailing, racing, and cause and effect (particularly the chapter on schooners), has been treated in as clear and precise a way as the space at our disposal, and the complexity of the subject, will permit. The tables of off-set have been prepared with the greatest care. CONTENTS
