THE FIGHT OF THE FIRECREST
by Alain Gerbault
The Firecrest is a racing cruiser, designed by the late Dixon Kemp, and built of old English oak and teak by P.T.Harris at Rowhedge, Essex, England in 1892. The author, adrift after the first world war armistice, could not live the dull life of a business man. Instead, he found open air and freedom in his single handed cruise across the Atlantic. This is the story of that transalantic adventure aboard the vessel, Firecrest.
