NAVAL ARCHITECTURE SIMPLIFIED
Explained in Non-Technical Terms. A Text Book of Small Power Boat Design
by Charles Desmond
Naval Architecture Simplified is, as its title implies, a non-technical explanation of the underlying principles of boat or vessel designing, intended for laymen, students and draftsmen who are just beginning the practice of naval architecture as a profession. Designing a boat or vessel is not a particularly complex undertaking for the man who understands the principles upon which the art of naval architecture is based, though it does ential an immense amount of detail work, and in the case of large vessels can be rather tedious at times if accuracy is desiged.  No man can become a designer through book-knowledge alone, but on the other hand, no amount of practical experience will avail if a proper theoretical background is lacking.
