RIGGING AND SAILMAKING A Simplified, Practical Guide for the Amateur by Alan Gray Following on to his successful and practical work on "Sailmaking Simplified" , here Gray limits his examination to the Marconi Rig, leaving aside the Gaff. The practical handbook approach has been maintained and much practical information on small sailmaking for the Marconi Rig is included. With thoughtful attention to the instructions, careful work and a good deal of patience, the amateur should be able to turn out a very serviceable suit of sails. The author has purposely omitted any mention of "light sails," such as spinnakers, Geneoas, etc. This sort of canvas is too sensitive to awkward workmanship an the results of home work generally to not justify the effort expended. For the small boat builder however, who wants a main or jib for that little marconi skiff or pram he's about to finish, this little book is just the ticket! HOME PAGE |
