SEA-SONGS
by Charles Dibdin
Collected and Arranged with a Memoir by T. Dibdin
with twelve illustrations by George Cruikshank
Now here's a musical masterwork! Charles Dibdin was born in the village of Dibdin near Southampton in the year 1745 and died in London in 1814. In those 69 years he produced a prodigious number of sea songs and other war songs. This volume contains the sea songs. It is absolutely choc-a-block. We have counted 435 but we may have missed a few! These also include a few by each of his descendants; T. Dibdin, and C. Dibdin, Jun., as well as a short collection of Miscellaneous National Songs. With Dibdin and Ashton in your pockets you will never be at a loss again at any chantey fest! Cruikshank's illustrations by the way are superb! Our edition published in 1914.
